About Shelbyville Housing Authority

Bedford County, "The Walking Horse Capital of the World", is home to the Shelbyville Housing Authority, which is about sixty miles south of Nashville, Tennessee. SHA has been in operation since 1955 housing low-income families. We have dedicated well qualified employees that manage 418 units along with managing resident self- sufficiency with a strong GED Program.

The Shelbyville Housing Authority's mission is to provide and preserve quality affordable housing, this includes, in a clean, decent, and safe environment, promoting self sufficiency, economic independence and home ownership among all housing residents while revitalizing Shelbyville's neighborhoods and enhancing the quality of life.
